On February 1st,the Kia EV5 720 Long Range Edition was officially launched,offering three models with a price range of 184800 to 225800 yuan.The overall design of the new car continues the 530km standard range version currently on sale,but the range has been significantly increased,with the CLTC pure electric range REACHing 720km and a comprehensive improvement in configuration.After the new car is launched,it will further enrich consumer choice space.
The front face of the EV5 still adopts a closed front grille design,which is currently the most mainstream design for electric vehicles.However,in terms of styling,it pays tribute to Kia's classic tiger roar style grille,and Kia has also named this new front face design the digital tiger roar style design.This is also a combination of avant-garde and classic,and one can indeed feel a hint of inheritance,and even this inheritance is constantly evolving and evolving.The design of the front light strip is probably the most recognizable feature of the EV5,with iconic star shaped headlights on both sides connected by a middle LED light strip,full of futuristic feeling.
From the side,you can see thick black wheel arches and thick side skirts,which visually give off a tough off-road vehicle vibe.As a boldly designed future SUV,popular details such as hidden door handles and suspended roof are also present.A silver trim has been added to the lower edge of the car window,adding a lot of layering.The tail design is equally layered and futuristic,with a through type three-dimensional light group echoing the headlights.The thick black and silver protective plate at the bottom also enhances its wildness,and the visual center of gravity is also enhanced.
In terms of interior,the overall design of the new car continues the 530km standard range version that is currently on sale,but the configuration has been improved,including the addition of zero gravity comfortable Seats for the driver's seat,a central drawer type thermal insulation box,UWB digital key,a folding table on the right side of the rear row,LED front and rear dynamic welcome function,hidden electric door handles,64 color ambient lights,11.3-inch head up display,and other configurations.
Applied Kia's new generation ccNC intelligent connected entertainment system,which can support both CarLife and wireless CarPlay simultaneously;More than 30 practical apps developed in collaboration with Baidu and Tencent,covering various aspects such as entertainment and lifestyle services,and supporting remote OTA vehicle upgrades.
In terms of safety configuration,the EV5 720 Long Range Edition comes standard with 7 airbags,including the rare front center airbags in its class;The vehicle body adopts a multiple skeleton structure,with high-strength steel accounting for 73.6%,ultra-high strength steel accounting for nearly 50%,and hot-formed steel accounting for 11%.The average strength of the entire vehicle reaches 68Kgf/mm2。
The EV5 720 Long Range Edition has added zero gravity compression seats for the driver's seat,supporting up to 14 way electric adjustment,one click zero gravity mode,and 12 force massage combinations,providing a first-class level of comfort experience;The rear seats are equipped with 0°flat folding seats as standard,supporting multi angle adjustment of the rear backrest,which can effectively alleviate discomfort in the back and spine of drivers and passengers.When folded down,the trunk can reach a depth of up to 2 meters
The EV5 720 Long Range Edition is equipped with an L2+level intelligent driving assistance system,which adds Front Collision Prevention Assist II(FCA2)compared to the standard version.It also includes functions such as cross vehicle,oncoming vehicles during overtaking,approaching vehicles from the side,and multi scenario avoidance steering assistance.The new car also adds the second-generation highway driving assistance(HDA2),which can maintain distance,center the lane,and automatically change lanes with the lever.

In terms of power,the new car is equipped with an 88.1kWh battery pack,a high-power front motor with a maximum power of 160kW and peak torque of 310N·m.The CLTC has a range of 720 kilometers,and the charging time from 30%to 80%is only 27 minutes.The EV5 720 Long Range Edition also offers an e-AWD dual motor four-wheel drive optional package.The four-wheel drive version has a maximum power of 233kW,peak torque of 480N·m,and a CLTC range of 630km.
In addition,the new car is equipped with a 5-level adjustable intelligent kinetic energy recovery system,which can achieve acceleration and deceleration with a single pedal in i-Pedial mode.The only standard configuration in the same level is a high-efficiency heat pump system and a second-generation battery intelligent temperature control management system,which can effectively reduce power consumption and achieve longer range under the same battery capacity conversion conditions.
